Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to improve the quality and relevance of welding education in vocational and technical upper secondary schools. Our main objective was to modernise teaching and learning processes by introducing more practice-based, innovative and up-to-date methods aligned with current labour market needs. We sought to strengthen teachers’ professional competences in modern welding techniques and enable them to integrate new methods and technologies into their lessons. Another key objective was to support students in developing practical skills that would increase their employability after graduation. Through the development of training videos, practical modules and guidance materials, we aimed to promote learning by doing and seeing. In addition, by cooperating with vocational schools from different European countries, we intended to exchange good practices, enhance intercultural cooperation and contribute to a shared understanding of quality in vocational education and training.

Activities

Within the project, we implemented a set of well-structured and complementary activities in order to achieve the planned objectives. At the beginning of the project, management and coordination activities were carried out to clarify roles and responsibilities among partners and to ensure effective communication. During the implementation period, transnational project meetings were organised, bringing together teachers from partner schools to exchange experiences, compare teaching approaches in welding education and share good practices. In addition, practice-oriented training modules and instructional videos focusing on different welding techniques were developed. These materials were designed to be directly usable in classroom and workshop settings. Workshops were organised to bring together vocational schools and industry representatives, allowing labour market expectations to be discussed. Furthermore, an international learning activity for students was implemented to support the development of their vocational skills and intercultural competences. Throughout the project, dissemination activities were carried out and the project results were shared with relevant stakeholders.

Impact

As a result of the project, several concrete outputs and significant outcomes were achieved. The main outputs included the development of practical welding training modules, an application-oriented welding handbook, and a set of instructional training videos covering different welding techniques. These materials were designed to be used directly in vocational education classrooms and workshops and were made accessible to teachers and students. In addition, teachers improved their professional competences in modern welding methods and innovative teaching approaches, enabling them to deliver more effective and up-to-date lessons. Students benefited from more practice-based learning opportunities, which enhanced their technical skills, motivation and employability prospects. The project also strengthened cooperation among partner schools, supported the exchange of good practices at European level and contributed to increased institutional capacity, internationalisation and awareness of quality standards in vocational education and training.
