Objectives

Given that only 58% of senior citizens globally recognize climate change as a global emergency, coupled with an aging population, particularly in Europe, it becomes evident that climate education is imperative for this demographic. The EcoAgeing project's aim is to nurture intergenerational conversations and collaborative learning through workshops, fostering cross-generational support for climate preservation, by improving inclusion and cooperation between senior citizens and young people.

Activities

The partners intend to execute the following initiatives: - Implement over 60 innovative and captivating activities focused on climate change with senior citizens - Organize 4 participatory and intergenerational Eco-Workshops per country within local communities to encourage engagement and collaboration between both age groups to promote an intergenerational dialogue for a better future - Conduct National Conferences aimed at promoting the project's outcomes to key stakeholders

Impact

The Eco Ageing project achieves the following main results: - Climate Change Set containing interactive and captivating activities supporting the uptake of an intergenerational dialogue on this topic - Participatory Eco-Workshops & instructional booklet to allow successfully re-create the Workshops for Creating Change - Mobile application, tailored towards the needs of senior citizens & providing a gamified introduction encouraging digital learning about climate change overcoming barriers
