Objectives

Many people with refugee background are confronted with psychological stress and learning disabilities due to their refugee experiences, which affects their motivation and skills for learning and thus also their inclusion. With this RefLeX project, we aim to equip adult educators with the skills and ready-to-use materials to support refugees in a more targeted way in order to quickly INTEGRATE them back into society and make them more confident for their future.

Activities

As a first step, a curriculum for a train-the-trainer course on how to tackle the mental stress and learning disabilities of refugees is created. Based on this, a digitized learning content is developed for adult educators to develop the skills required to deal with these issues. Additional guidelines and exercises provide trainers with ready-to-use tools for their classes. Through the involvement of our target groups in different project activities, a high practical relevance can be guaranteed.

Impact

By developing the online course for adult educators and the practical exercises, we hope to improve the education and training for people with refugee experiences. Adult education should have a more targeted effect, considering the individual challenges of these people, especially when it comes to psychological stress symptoms and learning disabilities. Through extensive dissemination, we expect the overall result of the project to be a contribution to their integration.
