▶Objectives
WORKPRIS aims to increase TSOs involvement in prison administrations to aid prisoners, enhance rehabilitation & integration, and reduce recidivism. By aligning vocational training with TSO demands, it fosters effective engagement within prisons, promoting social reintegration and innovatively addressing EU labour market needs. Through innovative VET programs & flexible training models, WORKPRIS empowers TSOs to effectively support prisoners across Europe ensuring VET flexibility of opportunity.
▶Activities
The project will map TSO engagement & training in prison settings in six EU countries and the UK & implement workshops on working with people in prison for TSO staff. A transnational seminar will take place on TSO engagement & training including the validation of key competencies for TSO staff & a workshop outline by the participants at this seminar. The key competencies template & workshop outline will be available online for two years after this project has closed for sustainability purposes.
▶Impact
We aim for this small partnership to springboard a larger transnational project to foster good practice & a training curriculum for TSO engagement with prison services & prisoners. 1) Connecting multi-agency stakeholders 2) Aiming to publish results from Activity 1 in a peer reviewed journal, raising awareness of this issue and potential solutions in existence 3) Creating an online key competencies template & workshop outline for TSO staff as a key resource for TSO engagement & training
