We aim to promote inclusive and diverse urban planning practices, promoting an intergenerational approach that sensitises adults to the perspectives and needs of young children. We want to raise awareness about the importance of designing urban spaces that are fit for many different ages, spaces that are functional, sustainable, beautiful and enjoyable, fostering collective appropriation and valorisation of these spaces. And to empower citizens to co-create kids-friendly public spaces.

We will implement the development of a toolkit (including 2 workshops), 1 city experiment (with street walks and a collaborative planning exercise), and 1 hybrid multiplier event. The workshops will focus on reciprocal learning about placemaking, citizen engagement, child-centric planning, and will include technical visits to learn from good practices. One will be in Brussels, the other in Bologna. The toolkit will be validated with the pilot experience in Amarante's urban renovation area.
