ā–¶Objectives

- Train secondary school teachers (STEAM) on inclusive design thinking tools and methodologies to promote pupil motivation, engagement, and human centred solutions in the classroom. - Build teacher confidence and skills in facilitating open-ended, pupil-driven projects. - Improve collaboration and teamwork among teachers for interdisciplinary STEAM education projects.

ā–¶Activities

Develop and deliver an interactive inclusive design thinking workshop for STEAM teachers with hands-on activities like empathetic framing of problems, creative brainstorming, rapid prototyping, and applying other design thinking tools. In addition to providing teachers with this practical knowledge we will also offer online support to assist teachers in rapidly implementing these new tools into their classroom practices.

ā–¶Impact

- Increased teacher confidence in facilitating inclusive design thinking (IDT) and pupil engagement. - Introduction of human centred design, developing creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration. - Demonstrate the potential for design and education to promote innovation and collaboration skills among pupils. - Disseminate improved version of the training module and scale the initiative. - Disseminate information on benefits of IDT in combination with teaching STEAM in K6-12.
