▶Objectives
The ART-ECO project works to source, weave and enact didactic material in arts education by fostering a world-centred perspective and cultivate children's capabilities of resonance and responsivess, as the necessary disposition for tackling climate change. Through a co-creative process, we will create 12 didactic packages, collect and share good practices, and create a learning community centred around the question how arts education can help in our fight against climate change.
▶Activities
The activities are centred around a process of co-creating a 'grand narrative' of arts educational material and an overarching didactic model. This done through sourching (collecting materials and knowledge from the local areas), weaving (bringing together our practices to form a new concepts and new approaches), and enacting (turning theory into practice, translating our views into concrete didactic materials). In each phase, elementary schools and NGOs are involved to test and co-create.
▶Impact
This project develops 12 didactic packages and a state-of-the-art didactic model as a tool for educators to design art lessons based on a world view promoting sustainability. This is accompanied by good practices executed in elementary schools with diverse contexts and transnationally tested with the Sami community in Norway. Through a process of co-creation, a digital platform will be made to share the model and good practices and form an international learning community beyond our consortium.
