Objectives

The project wishes to deepen the political interest of DHH students and to develop their critical thinking skills, including argumentation skills. Due to the language barrier, DHH individuals face obstacles in their way for successful and responsible citizenship; thus, we strive to remove them and help improve skills needed to maintain a healthy democracy. Thanks to the project, a new set of relevant teaching and learning materials will be developed for the use of the DHH student population.

Activities

As part of the project, we intend to implement several activities that are connected or complementary to each other yet have benefits in themselves: research activities, building teaching and learning resources in form of a hybrid book and e-learning, creating thematically relevant dictionary entries, holding an international summer school, seminars in each project country, as well as the final international conference. Partner meetings are spread evenly throughout the project.

Impact

The project aims to carry out a survey among DHH young people on their interest in European issues, politics and critical thinking; prepare a set of materials for teaching and training critical thinking on a thematic basis of European topics and the political landscape in a form that is relevant for DHH people; create a set of relevant, thematically linked, entries for a sign language dictionary; organise a summer school offering a programme based on the thematic framework of the project.
