▶Objectives
We aim to: 1) Improve inclusion and quality of life of people living with dementia and their carers by introducing the innovative FMN:CR approach; 2) Offer continuing VET opportunities for health and social care workers by enriching reminiscence therapy with art appreciation, craft, music and theatrical activities; 3) Bring innovative Initial VET practice to educators of future social care, educational and cultural professionals through transnational cooperation and networking.
▶Activities
We will: 1) Collaboratively shape the FMN: Creative Reminiscence (CR) approach; 2) Develop VET Educator’s Manual with card sets with handouts and templates for CR session plans; 3) Create a Training Programme with model exercises for engaging people living with dementia in CR sessions; 4) Curate a Library with inspirational video case studies of CR sessions; 5) Develop Recommendations on how to be dementia inclusive and organise dementia-friendly CR activities and dedicated reminiscence spaces.
▶Impact
1) People living with dementia are supported to make their ageing more dignified; 2) Increased competences of professional and informal carers and art therapists through synergy between artistic activities and reminiscence therapy (FMN:CR approach) to improve the well-being of people living with dementia; 3) VET educators and care professionals and informal carers are equipped with Educator’s Manual, Training Programme and Library with video case studies of creative reminiscence sessions.
