▶Objectives
With SATCULT three European partners prepare innovative vocational training schemes for the cultural heritage sector on the use of satellite data in the preservation of European cultural heritage. Expertise in cultural heritage preservation and geoinformation data is linked together as an answer to challenges caused by climate change and war destruction. The aim is to raise awareness in both communities on the beneficial opportunities in collaboration.

Activity 1: Project management (management, meetings with partners and stakeholders) Activity 2: Compilation of a collection of good practices to learn about opportunities Activity 3: Concretisation of training needs: Survey among heritage professional Activity 4: Capacity building by training: "Satellite data for cultural heritage preservation" (set-up of pool of European experts for the future implementation of the training) Activity 5: Dissemination of results to sensitise for training needs
▶Impact
- Brochure on good practices of satellite data-based opportunities for heritage institutions - 6500 European cultural heritage institutions, 250 institutes and companies in the geoinformation sector and 200 training providers reached with a survey to identify the training needs of both sectors for beneficially using satellite data in heritage protection - Setup of a “Pool of expertise and experiences” from the heritage and the geoinformation sectors for sustainable cooperative training actions
