▶Objectives
By developing and offering customised intercultural training for nursing staff from abroad, the intercultural skills of nursing staff from abroad who wish to work in Germany or Austria are to be improved. The aim is to provide a realistic picture of the working culture in the care professions in Germany and Austria in order to avoid disappointments and failed career starts and to increase integration.
▶Activities
The partners will first carry out a needs analysis for intercultural training for nursing staff from abroad using qualitative interviews and research. On the basis of the results a training module on "Living and working as a carer in Germany and Austria" will be developed and piloted with carers from Colombia and Tunisia. Finally, the finished training product will be disseminated to relevant stakeholders and its sustainable use will be ensured.
▶Impact
The partners expect many positive results, including better preparation and support for nursing staff recruited from abroad for living and working in Germany and Austria. This will not only reduce team conflicts and improve nursing services, but will also lead to a lower drop-out rate and increase the acceptance of nursing facilities for nursing staff from abroad. This will also improve the intercultural consensus in society.
