Objectives

"Young Woman in T.I.M.E." aims to attract young women to technical training professions with target group-oriented results. In view of the shortage of skilled workers in many EU countries, there is great interest in this for economic reasons. For reasons of equal opportunities, inclusion and future orientation, education policy must also aim to ensure that women are equally represented. We want to encourage women and make it easier for them to choose a career that is fit for the future.

Activities

Among other things, our project will create a promotional trailer for cinemas, youtube, vimeo, school websites and social channels; develop workshops for one-day orientation events that give young women a practical overview of various technical training professions, introduce women in technical professions and process their stories as graphic novels. We will test our material in pilot runs, modify it if necessary and then publish it on EU platforms and elsewhere.

Impact

Gender stereotypes continue to play a major role in the choice of non-university training courses. Appropriate activities and materials are needed to ensure that young women are interested in technical apprenticeships. They should recognize that these are professions that are sustainable and help to find solutions to major challenges such as climate change. But they also enable them to live independently and protect them from poverty in old age.
