▶Objectives
Biodynamic agriculture strives for environmental-friendly wine production. In Eastern Europe the development of Biodynamics is stagnating because the concept is not adapted to the specific conditions. Wanderschule and 4 leading national biodynamic organizations elaborate an adapted Biodynamic viticulture concept to support the wine growers in conversion. In each country trainings will be installed with the support of associated professional partners of the vocational training institutions.
▶Activities
24 case studies of Biodynamic pioneers/experts will be elaborated to better understand the specific conditions. In regional conferences the lessons learnt will be discussed and a catalogue of recommendation published. In each country a new conversion training will be developed, tested, evaluated. The results are shared with interested wine growers gathered in the vocational training centres and professional regional wine associations and other national organisations in the Biodynamic movement.
▶Impact
The project will accelerate the conversion rate of Eastern Europe wine growers to Biodynamics. 24 case studies help to understand the learnt lessons of pioneers and create a recommendation catalogue. In each participating wine country a new training will offer VET students, wine growers, trainers the chance to update their knowledge. The results will be shared internationally (EPALE). The project will also help to adapt cultivation concepts for other crops (olive or orcharding) or other regions.
