Objectives

We want to contribute to raising a generation that understands itself as human beings better and is able to self-regulate and interact with others in a healthy way, thus being able to tackle the challenges of the 21st century together as active and responsible citizens in the frame of a SEL - Social and emotional learning and LIFEComp approach, as a vital contribution to a holistic education about human existence at an early stage of education (3-11).

Activities

We will design a guidelines document on key aspects of SEL to include from a psychological knowledge neuroscience perspective in preschool and primary school and a set of age appropriate teaching materials for the different age groups. We will pilot the materials and after the feedback from teachers and educators, we will finalize our materials and summarize the accompanying necessary knowledge in the guidelines. Both will be available for free download.

Impact

Tangible results: 1 SEL guidelines for pre-school and primary education teachers to implement body-mind-relation knowledge for different age groups and settings, 12 teaching materials tested and 15 teachers engaged in the testing. Intangible results: raised awareness among teachers and learners for the processes happening in our mind, that influence our behaviour, health and relationships and improved understanding of the functioning of the mind. Healthier, happier more resilient individuals.
