A transnational course will be created for teachers who teach students in ordinary classes as part of inclusion and are often not specifically trained for this, as well as for specialists in the area of “Focus on Hearing”. The course will consist of online modules as well as a three-day face-to-face course each in Lower Austria and Bavaria. The use of simultaneous sign interpreters in the course also improves the inclusion of teachers in the “Focus on Hearing” area.

In addition to planning in video conferences, three editorial meetings take place creating the three course parts in both countries. In a pilot phase, both face-to-face courses will be carried out with 30 participants (15 from each country) and then evaluated. The final editing also serves to discuss changes or further development of the course or to initiate new transnational cooperation projects.

The project aims to initiate long-term collaboration to develop courses, share speakers and exploit synergies, especially for transnational training. The central result is a three-part course in the area of “Focus on Hearing” with an orientation towards the dimensions of diversity (inclusion as the goal). Ultimately, our project can also serve as an inspiration for other institutions that strive for transnational cooperation in the area of teacher training.
