Objectives

Specific objectives: identify and assess trainers’ gaps/needs for coastal communities sustainability; equip trainers with a methodology to educate on sustainability of coastal communities, overcoming social, economic, environmental challenges, boosting the relationship between humans and sea; taste SoS methodology with VET learners to fine-tune training programme and tools; mainstreaming education for sustainable development in coastal areas, maximizing its potential of transfer in VET System.

Activities

The core activities of SoS project are: i) designing a SoS competence framework on education for sustainable development of coastal communities, taking into account and integrating sectoral EU policies that could support overcoming economic, environmental social and cultural challenges, boosting the relationship between the community and the sea ii) designing and tasting a training program for educate VET trainers and learners on sustainable development of coastal communities.

Impact

Production of a SoS methodology to be adapted and exploited by VET trainers to learners, transferring competences on sustainable development and boosting their relationship between humans and sea. By accessing the methodology, trainers enhance their capacity to apply sustainability’s elements to coastal areas and integrating them in training programs targeted to PPs communities. In this way SoS contribute to shape coastal communities making them more attractive place to live, work and growth.
