Undoubtedly, correctional facilities face a skew of problems, mainly arising from the understaffing in the organization (mostly scientific personnel) and the lack of training in a number of subjects. The REWARD project addresses all these described needs and is aiming at: - implementing sustainable material in terms of a handbook for good practices and asynchronous e-learning courses for human rights and basic health issues; - enhancing the need for tangible training and education in these;

REWARD project aims at delivering tangible outcomes, and the participating organizations expect to implement two well-prepared intellectual outputs (a printed handbook and e-learning courses), organize a workshop for all interested parties in the subjects that this project addresses, and provide in-site training to a number of correctional officers in Domokos prison, police officers in detention centres in Nicosia, and incarcerated people or detainees in those facilities.

The REWARD project primarily aims to raise awareness among all interested participants about the subjects of health and human rights inside a correctional facility. Furthermore, one of the key goals established by the participating organizations is to satisfy the expressed needs of their employees and inmates to learn about these subjects and participate in any on-site activity that provide them with knowledge and skills necessary in their daily work lives.
