Objectives

eMates aims to tackle the digital divide of adult migrants by capacity-building second-language acquisition educators (or L2 educators) in e-government through innovative methods and educational complementary materials in A1, A2, B1 second-language levels. We support L2 educators to widen their action scope, and by co-developing the strategies to solve specific problems/issues that migrants face in their integration process, using language and e-government learning as a leverage for autonomy

Activities

- Develop a complementary curriculum for L2 adult educators to track the different areas of e-government and develop a language A1, A2, B1 framework and shape a working methodology - Develop accessible materials/practical advice for and with L2 educators on e-government learning for adult migrants - Local activities of L2 language with the support of an online L2 learning platform focused on e-government and problem solving everyday contexts

Impact

- A complementary curriculum for L2 teachers to digitally transpose each specific language session for adult migrants - Practical materials for L2 teachers to innovate their language lessons and integrate them with context-based scenarios in e-government and support a proactive role of adult students . - An online platform to build innovative use of digital education content for adult migrants, and support language teachers in taking up more advanced digital capacity-building
