Objectives

ENVIHEI aims to create and test innovative educational materials to implement green competences in HEIs through student-centered learning approaches, tackling this unsolved challenge of the EU sustainability competence framework ‘GreenComp’. ENVIHEI will empower/engage future professionals for environmental sustainability by focusing on technical/engineering student profiles and on their lecturers, playing decisive social roles in the green transition and in fostering responsible citizenship.

Activities

ENVIHEI is divided into 4 Work Packages (WPs) accomplished by a consortium of 5 experienced HEIs: WP1- Project management; WP2- Educational materials elaboration and lecturers training through engagement/raising awareness/know-how online activities; WP3- Educational materials testing and students training with lecturers participation in a pilot winter school; and WP4- Dissemination, transferability, and sustainability, including storytelling showcase events and scaling of successful practices.

Impact

The learning/teaching for environmental sustainability approach of ENVIHEI will be based on innovative pedagogical methodologies under the Transformative Learning framework combining participatory/collaborative strategies: Problem/Project-Based Learning (PBL), Real-Case Studies, and Service-Learning. The interactive educational materials produced will be transferable to multiple HE student profiles in the EU through realistic examples/cases, freely accessible and translated in several languages.
