The “last mile” in freight transport of consumer goods is inefficient and costly to businesses and consumers. Also, it creates pollution and congestion in EU cities, given their urban density. This last element is inefficient and costly to businesses and consumers. The ECOmile project aims at developing new methodologies for logistics companies that can be effective for consumers, economically viable for companies and decrease the carbon footprint of deliveries.

The ECOmile project will implement a variety of complementary activities. Partners will develop three educational results, which will be designed through field research, a report on best practices, and the design of two digital, interactive tools. To reach out to the target groups and test the quality of their project, partners will implement pilot activities and dissemination events. To increase users engagement, partners will develop a dissemination strategy and communication tools.

The ECOmile project will create a set of coherent and interconnected tools, strategies and demonstrators to prove operational viability to the private sector. The project will design and implement an online environment, providing access to innovative e-learning materials and resources, in the form of educational modules and a serious game, that will provide learners with a real-life scenario in which they can apply the knowledge acquired through the e-learning course.
