Objectives

"Coding Companions" is a project that aims to enhance the digital competence of teachers and learners and to encourage them to use digital tools. The participants will develop their creativity and get in touch with their European peers. The participants of the project are three schools from three European countries: Finland (Tampere), Poland (Lesna) and Belgium (Geraardsbergen-Zottegem). The project is lead by local teachers.

Activities

We will have three live project meetings, one in each participating country. We are going to prepare lessons and tasks for learners and compare the results of our work. Students are going to learn different digital techniques and how to use them in everyday life. There will be workshops on, for example coding with robots, 3D pens, Coding carpets and outdoor maps with Seppo.io. We will interact with other learners in our own schools and with learners in other countries in digital environments.

Impact

The project will enhance the participants' digital competence. It will improve language skills and knowledge of different cultures. It will provide enjoyable STEM/STEAM lessons for students. It will give the participating children skills and knowledge that they will need in the future. Digitality and coding are a universal language that can break down barriers that are caused by different languages and cultures. They can remove the obstacles that are caused by special needs and disabilities.
