▶Objectives
We implemented the Digital Skills project to sustainably strengthen the skills of digital mediators by providing them with practical resources, innovative training content, and tools adapted to real-world challenges. Our objectives were to produce two practical guides based on European best practices, to develop training modules tested locally, and to promote the adoption of key professional attitudes: empathy, communication, and adaptability. In parallel, we aimed to create a transnational dynamic of exchange between digital mediation professionals, in order to enrich pedagogical approaches and foster social innovation in the sector. Through this project, we also strengthened the capacities of our organisations to produce, disseminate, and deliver collaborative learning content, while improving the quality of support provided to the most digitally excluded groups.
▶Activities
The Digital Skills project was structured around five main activities. First, rigorous coordination was ensured through monthly meetings between Efficience (FR) and Previform (PT), supported by shared governance and collaborative tools (shared drives, video calls, communication platforms). Next, monitoring and fieldwork were carried out to identify best practices in digital mediation, through interviews, research, and analysis conducted in both countries. This work fed into the creation of two methodological guides: one on “outreach” approaches, and the other on supporting specific target groups. Both were translated into three languages. Based on these materials, we designed and tested training modules tailored for digital mediators. Finally, several dissemination activities were carried out: a dedicated website was created, social media campaigns were launched, webinars and videos were produced, and pedagogical materials were shared.
▶Impact
The Digital Skills project produced two practical guides in three languages (FR/PT/EN): one focused on outreach strategies (“Aller Vers”), and the other on supporting specific target groups. These reference tools, shared openly, provide mediators with concrete and adaptable resources. Training modules were designed, tested, and validated by field professionals. Their feedback allowed us to refine the content to better match real needs. We carried out several dissemination actions: an online webinar (video available on YouTube), a hybrid dissemination event, and regular publications on social media. The project’s website provides open access to all materials. Beyond the deliverables, professionals involved in the project reported a real improvement in their skills and a deepening of their practices, thanks to the exchange of European best practices. The two partner organizations have also decided to extend this dynamic, continuing their collaboration on digital inclusion and developing new joint projects, particularly focusing on youth.
