Objectives

The ERASMUS+ simplified partnership project "Social & rural cooperatives: inhabitants as actors of the territorial commons (RURAL-COOP)" proposes to experiment with new democratic experiences in rural and mountain environments, in the Pyrenees, in favor of the management of the commons under form of integrated social and territorial cooperatives. It is aimed at elected officials, residents, socio-professional actors, institutions and organized groups.

Activities

Concretely, this involves organizing democratic project residencies intended to organize and structure the ecological and social transformation in the identified pilot territories, by involving residents in the design, management and operation of the commons. 3 experiments will be carried out in parallel on the basis of a differentiated methodology depending on the audiences and territorial contexts. The entire process will be documented and freely accessible.

Impact

- 3 local democratic experiments linked to living things, the scientific and artistic community - 3 participatory processes each involving +300 people - 1 toolbox for citizen participation in rural and mountain areas around common areas - 1 portfolio recounting the 3 democratic experiments
