Objectives

To empower children through practical, value-driven experiences that develop ecological awareness, civic engagement, and a sense of European belonging. The project sought to foster mutual understanding, cooperation, and community building through innovative activities and international exchanges.

Activities

- Clean walks and zero-waste workshops - Cooperative games and “talking circles” using Montessori principles - Intergenerational encounters with elderly citizens - Co-creation of an educational booklet on the journey of a waste and education towards ecological good practices. - Two cross-country mobilities (Guadeloupe ↔ Aruba) - A closing event celebrating outcomes and intercultural ties

Impact

The project has generated tangible and lasting outcomes. The co-created educational booklet, events and workshops open to a larger public, recycled art pieces, exhibitions and videos have helped raise broad awareness. But more importantly, the real impact lies in behaviour change: children, families and local residents have adopted new eco-friendly habits. Beaches, roadsides and the harbour are visibly cleaner. People have stopped burning waste and have begun sorting it instead. The workshops encouraged intergenerational exchange, strengthened local solidarity and fostered a shared sense of pride. The project has truly sparked a positive, contagious momentum across communities in both Guadeloupe and Aruba.
