BV2i combats recidivism and reoffending and contributes to the integration of former inmates by acting on three levels: 1) detention centre managers and education and training staff are encouraged to implement more activities to prepare prisoners for employment, 2) inmates are trained to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to find a job and are made aware of sectors with labour shortages, 3) employers are motivated and supported to employ formerly incarcerated people.

BV2i will research and promote different practices that have a positive impact on the employment of former prisoners.An offline interactive learning pathway to employment through 5 modules and a presentation of 5 shortage sectors is created and tested with 110 prisoners. A practical guide is disseminated to explain how to set up a MoodleBox in a detention centre. Finally a guide to motivating companies to employ formerly incarcerated people is being created with psychologists and social workers.

BV2i generates three main results: 1) A compendium of practices to encourage detention centres to introduce activities oriented towards employment. 2) An interactive offline pathway on a MoodleBox to develop knowledge and skills needed to become employed and awareness of labour-shortage sectors with a practical guide to implement such a tool in detention centres. 3) A guide to motivate and support companies to employ formerly incarcerated workers.
