Objectives

FEMLEAD introduces a new model for HEIs to implement comprehensive measures for reducing the gender gap in STEM, assuming a central role in social change. It implements a multi-stakeholder approach to advance OS practices and STEM initiatives in HEIs, promoting gender diversity, inclusivity, and systematisation. HEI staff, students, researchers and (minority) women communities, research organisations and policymakers are trained and mobilised to enable women’s participation.

Activities

WP2:Training sessions via the Virtual Learning Lab to upskill 125 HEIs staff, researchers, students and 75 stakeholders in the research and innovation sector and grassroots communities WP3:50 female HEIs researchers/students participate in 15 STEM OS projects; 3 HEIs OS Fairs, and 5 Info Days with 1600+ participants from academic, research and educational communities. WP4:5 Policy Labs with 25 HEIs staff, researchers, students, policymakers, grassroots communities and other STI stakeholders.

Impact

FEMLEAD creates a VLL on inclusive gender methodologies in R&I (STEM/OS) to train HEI researchers, students, and other stakeholders; facilitate female researchers and students’ co-participation in STEM Open Science projects, showcasing female achievement and increasing recruitment opportunities in OS Fairs and InfoDays; co-develops Policy Recommendations and Gender Equality Implementation Plans, to ensure the effective mainstreaming of inclusive gender practices within HEIs and beyond.
