▶Objectives
The Erasmus+ program prioritizes environmental sustainability and addresses the challenge of climate change. Given this urgency, there is a need for new approaches to project design. GreenEURproject aims to reduce the environmental impact of European projects, introducing a green impact calculator and implementing a green label. The project seeks to establish a comprehensive framework for all EU-funded projects, encouraging the use of a toolkit by coordinators and evaluators.
▶Activities
GreenEURproject will study all possible impact of EU funded project activities. Different quantitative indicator will be established, and a qualitative methodology will be defined. Through this combination of different approaches, coming from the life cycle assessment and circular economy, GreenEURproject will ensure a holistic care of projects pressure on the environment. Workshops with different stakeholders will be implemented to guarantee the understanding and acceptation of the new label.
▶Impact
The project aims to achieve an environmental impact calculator which will serve two main results: an assessment of past and current EU projects, and a new green label. Through its implementation, and by giving project leaders and EU a reliable tool to quantify the ecological impact, GreenEURproject goal is to promote eco-friendly behaviours in project design and management, and finally to reduce the pressure on environment of EU programs.
