Objectives

The Lesser-Used Languages Classroom (LULaC) project would be a digital platform dedicated to the teaching and learning of lesser-used languages. Its first objective is to develop teaching materials based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for two pilot languages, while the second objective is to develop and launch digital courses in these pilot languages on an open-source digital platform.

Activities

The activities implemented to fulfil the project’s objectives are divided into five work packages: WP1 - Project management WP2 - Development of teaching materials based on the CEFR WP3 - Development of the introductory digital courses WP4 - Adaptation and integration of the resources into a Learning Management System (LMS) WP5 - Impact, sustainability, and dissemination

Impact

1) A strategy for project and risk management, for sustainability, dissemination, and impact-measurement 2) CEFR-based reference materials for levels A1 & A2 in Turkish and Ukrainian 3) Pilot session of one Ukrainian and one Turkish digital and asynchronous courses at the level A1 4) Publication of all the teaching material and courses on the LMS 5) A conference on the digital teaching of languages in higher education and four multiplier events
