▶Objectives
Young Minds will enhance teachers' skills to address mental health topics using films as an educational resource, providing a unique and engaging way to explore a complex and sensitive issue, promoting critical thinking and empathy, cross-cultural understanding, and reducing the stigma. We will involve the wider school community, reaching adolescents, parents, children, and families, as well as mental health and audiovisual professionals, in the promotion of mental health literacy.

Development of a booklet of European films and documentaries about mental health Co-development of a handbook for teachers and lessons plans Implement a piloting phase in the schools, including the preparation and deployment of the screening and debating events open to the communities Dissemination of the project and its results with the school communities, with the partners’ networks, and on relevant platforms, such as European School Education Platform.
▶Impact
The main results from Young Minds will be: (i) a booklet of European films and documentaries about mental health; (ii) a handbook and lesson plans for teachers to use in classrooms; (iii) a teachers’ capacity building course to use the lesson plans and the film education approach; and (iv) a series of screening and debating events in partners schools, open to the overall educational community, raising awareness to mental health topics.
