▶Objectives
This project revolves around translating and moderating standards for landscape construction to be applicable to the climate in the northernmost part of Europe. Standards for natural stone and turf walls as well as creating natural looking areas will be written to be used in Denmark and surrounding countries. By implementing this project and it´s results we intend to raise the quality of work in landscaping and produce a tool (standards) that can be used within the industry across the board.
▶Activities
We will be implementing the translated and modified standards as well as the written additions in Iceland and Denmark first of all. They will we made available for all interested parties and especially for landscape constructors, students and teachers in that field, landscape architects, planning officals and others that may have use of them. The two multiplierevents will be a part of the implementation and dissemination of the standards in both countries.
▶Impact
We expect to have landscape construction standards translated into icelandic and english with new additions about stone and turf walls as well as construction of natural looking areas with minimal ecological impact. We expect that publishing these results will lead to a good cooperation between the schools and labor market in this field, increased quality of work and professionalism as well as standardised requirements when landscaping projects are up for bidding to contractors.
