Summary

Wildfires endanger our lives and our planet. Yet most fire prevention efforts neglect the power of our most important resource: the next generation. This project flips the script, positioning students as leaders in wildfire risk reduction. We'll provide them with the tools to investigate the human behaviors, environmental factors, and potential policy gaps that contribute to fire hazards in their own backyards.

Objectives

Wildfires endanger our lives and our planet. Yet most fire prevention efforts neglect the power of our most important resource: the next generation. This project flips the script, positioning students as leaders in wildfire risk reduction. We'll provide them with the tools to investigate the human behaviors, environmental factors, and potential policy gaps that contribute to fire hazards in their own backyards.

Activities

To build community-wide fire awareness, students will create campaigns using social media, podcasts, e-magazines, and peer education workshops. We'll provide training to ensure their messages have maximum reach. Teachers will work with NGOs and experts to smoothly integrate fire prevention into their regular teaching through workshops. The project will include 4 physical and 1 virtual mobility. Digital dimension of the project (eTwinning) will be ensured to include more participants.

Impact

This project will transform students into knowledgeable advocates for fire prevention, and teachers will confidently integrate fire safety education into their classrooms. TANGIBLE OUTCOMES: • Multilingual phrase book • E-magazines • Fire safety stories • "Train the Trainer" resources • Podcasts with firefighters • Press releases • Increased collaboration with other NGOs • Materials promoting the project (posters, leaflets etc.) • Inclusive teaching materials and lesson plans
