Objectives

To gather, adjust and develop so-called ‘didactic bricks’ to support teachers to prepare and perform lessons and interdisciplinary learning projects, so they can facilitate 10-15 year old students in developing creative solutions on real-world sustainability challenges. Students grow hope and develop entrepreneurial skills, when participating in real actions in service of other people and the planet, while learning.

Activities

The project consists of (1) Brick concept development, based upon (a) teachers' needs and national landscapes of learning materials (b) alignment with the GreenComp framework and (c) an integrated Whole School Approach. (2) Brick co-creation with teachers from Slovenia, Denmark and the Netherlands, as well as educational content experts. (3) Testing the bricks and collecting feedback from teachers. (4) Implementing the toolkit and disseminating it through the networks of FEE Global and LvM.

Impact

The didactic bricks toolkit, starting with: - 36 generic methods tagged and integrated with the 12 competence areas of the GreenComp framework - 45 thematic content hand-outs divided into 3 sustainability themes: nature and biodiversity, food and beverages, textiles and fashion - 90 learning activities related to school subjects like science, math, world orientation, etc Lessons, projects and learning pathways can be created by combining these methods, content and learning activities.
