Objectives

By implementing the project, we aimed to improve the quality of preschool education in Poland and Latvia by introducing modern didactic and organizational solutions, with particular emphasis on ecological education. A key objective was to strengthen the competences of at least 12 teachers who, through the exchange of experiences and transnational cooperation, had the opportunity to learn new teaching methods and apply them in their institutions. We sought to develop and test innovative lesson plans, including those based on learning through play with LEGO bricks, to help children build pro-ecological attitudes, creativity, and curiosity about the world. Another goal was to enhance intercultural integration – both among teachers and preschool children – through learning about the traditions and culture of the foreign partner. As a result, the project was designed to create lasting conditions for enriching the educational offer, raising the prestige of the institutions, and providing children with a modern, inspiring, and development-friendly educational environment.

Activities

As part of the project, a series of activities were carried out to support teachers and children in two partner kindergartens in Poland and Latvia. The project began with working meetings and study visits in both countries, which enabled team integration, the exchange of experiences, and the analysis of differences in the functioning of the institutions. Afterwards, teachers, together with experts, developed eco-education lesson plans that incorporated learning through play, including the use of LEGO bricks. The lesson plans were tested with groups of children in both kindergartens and subsequently improved based on feedback and observations. In parallel, promotional and dissemination activities were conducted, including the preparation of information materials, sharing the developed products on social media and websites, and organizing demonstration lessons in other institutions. The entire process was coordinated by project teams, which oversaw the substantive, financial, and organizational quality of the activities.
