Objectives

The main objective is to improve the psychophysical condition of academic teachers by developing effective tools to prevent professional burnout for this group. As shown by the results of scientific research (including conducted by the Coordinator and Cypriot Partner), the dual nature of the work of academics makes them highly exposed to the effects of burnout. Factors, such as remote learning related to the pandemic or geopolitical uncertainty, further deepen this threat.

Activities

Work will be divided into 4 WP: WP1 Project management. WP2 Creating a set of activities for academic teachers. WP3 Creating a manual for the university authorities. WP4 Communication and dissemination. We want to implement 2 main slogans: 1. change of perspective (no more taboo) – academic teatchers and university authorities, 2. resilience – strengthening academic teatchers, not worrying about things over which one has no influence but helping oneself.

Impact

We plan 3 results: R1: A set of activities for academics – including communing with nature, stoicism, developing hobbies (e.g. sports bridge): an individual change of perspective and strengthening resilience. R2: Manual for universities, showing the specificity of the profession of an academic teacher and the related risk of professional burnout with a set of good practices. R3: Communication package with implementation recommendations – methods, tools and techniques for disseminating results.
