Virtual Reality Immersive Learning for Emergency Services
▶Objectives
The project aims to improve the skills of firefighters by providing them with a tailored-made training package that integrates immersive and realistic training experiences using VR technology, and a VR training tool that allows automated and event-based feedback generation. ViRaLes aims to increase the effectiveness of VET training for emerging services by providing a cost-effective and efficient VR training and raising awareness among VET trainers about the possibilities of VR technologies.
▶Activities
The main activities of the ViRaLes project include: the design, development, and testing of a Training Package targeting firefighters and emergency responders (WP2); the development of a competence- and scenario-based Virtual Reality Training Tool and Web platform (WP3) that can be used by emergency responders and VET trainers; and the implementation of the training program with target groups through a series of workshops in partner countries and a transnational virtual workshop (WP4).
▶Impact
The main tangible results for the project will be, an instructional framework for the exploitation of VR technologies in emergency services training (WP2), a training package with scenarios for VR training (WP2), a web-platform offering an innovative VR Training Tool based on scenario-based learning, that allows the provision of event-based automated assessment based on training objectives (WP3), a series of local and transnational implementations (WP4) and dissemination events (WP5).
