Objectives

The project aims to modernize VET in dementia care to meet the rising demand for skilled professionals. It focuses on developing a robust distance learning system, merging digital tools and innovative methods, where trainees can gain practical skills and theoretical knowledge, enhancing accessibility and effectiveness of this teaching-learning model. This prepares healthcare professionals and carers to confidently navigate the challenges of dementia settings and patients providing better care.

Impact

To produce a comprehensive distance learning platform, a VET for dementia with a digital simulation game, and a transfer handbook for wider dissemination. Also, it anticipates increased digital readiness in the trainees, enhanced knowledge and skills, and improved dementia care practices among healthcare professionals and caregivers in our countries. Consequently this will lead to better outcomes and quality of life and well-being for people with dementia and increased satisfaction with care.
