Summary

In short, ReadIn consists of 2 partners from Sweden and Austria, working as educational providers for teachers, and several associated kindergartens. The partnership aims to develop, promote, and deepen competencies in kindergartens and among preschool teachers regarding read-aloud activities and methods, and their effects on children's language development, multilingualism, cognitive development, and collaborative skills.

Objectives

In short, ReadIn consists of 2 partners from Sweden and Austria, working as educational providers for teachers, and several associated kindergartens. The partnership aims to develop, promote, and deepen competencies in kindergartens and among preschool teachers regarding read-aloud activities and methods, and their effects on children's language development, multilingualism, cognitive development, and collaborative skills.

Activities

In brief, the project focuses on challenges faced by preschool teachers in children's language development and how implementing read-aloud activities in various ways, with different goals and purposes. Competence development days will provide preschool teachers with the opportunity to effectively use the activities. A digital workshop based on UNESCO International Literacy Days for other preeschoolteachers and a follow-up online conference, can be an event for preschool teachers across the EU.

Impact

Results, at least 400 preschool teachers should have the opportunity to benefit from the parts that will be shared digitally, through webinars. The material designed by partners will be shared with associated kindergartens and those who wish to access it. Ensuring increased access for preschool teachers to work with language development methods through targeted read-aloud activities, and increased competence among preschool staff to work with these methods and an understanding of their effects.
