▶Objectives
We want to fill the gap in education of our deaf pupils in Europe. Hearing pupils have a huge variety of educational material to choose from. The deaf pupils don´t. We found a specific need that was not fullfilled at all and that was the subject of English which is a third language and extra difficult to learn for the deaf pupils. When something is extra difficult you need extra good educational material and pedagogic methods to obtain lasting knowledge by the deaf pupils, which is absent today.
▶Activities
A series of meetings to get the positive snowball moving so the curriculum among the four partner countries will set the foundations for a common script creation which will lead to accurate pin point of what the pupils needs in form of educational material in sign language in order to learn how to read and wright English in the most sufficient manner. Activities for script making, production, programming, testing and evaluation are implemented in order to fill the gap and leave no one behind.
▶Impact
Other than a fabulous material in the subject of English, covering four countries in Europe within special needs, we hope that this will give positive impacts among the pupils and their international friends when being able to communicate in English text, geting good grades in the subject at school which finally enables the deaf citizens to be able to manage higher education and to get jobs in order to sustain themselves, away from welfare and become taxpayers as the rest of us take for granted.
