▶Objectives
Although the foundry sector is extremely important for many other sectors in the industry, it is experiencing difficulties in labour supply recently.Against this challenge caused by prejudices to the sector, changes in occupational preferences of young people and, most critically, the inadequacy of vocational education programmes, DigiFoundry Project aims to bridge the gap between sector and education, to train a qualified workforce and to increase the attractiveness of the foundry sector again.
▶Activities
DigiFoundry Project will design a digital foundry training platform to draw attention to innovation in vocational education and to increase the interest of young people in the foundry sector.This platform will include a virtual reality foundry simulation as well as training contents and informative documents on casting, green and digital transformation.Moreover, several events will be organised to increase the cooperation capacity and awareness of stakeholders and partners in the project.
▶Impact
In the scope of DigiFoundry Project, the foundry simulation will create an innovative perspective in vocational education and will become an important training tool for the sector and educational institutions when combined with the contents to be developed on casting, green and digital transformation.Informative contents and events that will address good practices in foundry vocational education and green-digital transformation issues will increase the awareness of the sector on these issues.
