▶Objectives
Kaleidoscope addresses the pressing issue of social isolation and integration challenges faced by migrant youth across Europe. With over 117.3 million forcibly displaced people globally, including many young migrants grappling with trauma, loss, & identity struggles, there is a critical need for effective solutions to encourage their emotional healing & community integration. The project uses art-based engagement as a transformative tool to build cohesion in communities grappling with migration.
▶Activities
Kaleidoscope will implement several activities, including the ABEE training programme for youth workers to enhance their skills in supporting migrant youth, the creation of an arts toolkit that includes diverse art forms for non-formal education, and organising community-based Kaleidoscope Festivals. These activities aim to empower migrant youth to participate in cultural exchange, improve integration, and engage migrant youth through artistic expression and collaboration.
▶Impact
Kaleidoscope will produce five complementary results: • ABEE Training Programme for Youth Workers to build their cultural competence & arts-based engagement techniques • Arts Toolkit, co-created with youth, facilitate arts-based engagement with young people • Curators Guides for migrant youth to build their leadership & event planning skills • Art Festivals to showcase developed art pieces in the local community & build cross-community dialogue • Transnational training event for youth workers
