Objectives

We aim to develop innovative participatory art methods that strengthen community engagement and foster intercultural exchange. By combining the rich carnival traditions of Berchem and Vevcani, we seek to create new ways to use art as a tool for social cohesion, talent development, and community building, establishing a sustainable model for inclusive cultural collaboration.

Activities

We will organize two intensive workweeks in Berchem and Vevcani featuring workshops, masterclasses, and field research. Participants will learn from each other through joint creations in music, theater, costumes, and local traditions. During the carnival weekends, we will showcase the results to the public through parades, performances, and exhibitions. These activities promote artistic practice exchange and strengthen cultural ties between both communities.

Impact

We expect enriched artistic skills, new intercultural insights, and strengthened collaboration between the communities. The developed methods will be documented in guides and shared through publications, workshops, and online platforms. This project will have a lasting impact by fostering follow-up projects and strengthening networks between cultural organizations, making the model applicable in other European contexts.
