- Improve the learning abilities of Students with Special Educational Needs (SSEN) using visual and dance arts (VDA) - Improve socialization and successful inclusion of SSEN via involvement in VDA activities - Develop skills and a sense of mission and purpose among arts teachers/educators for supporting the learning abilities development and inclusion of SSEN - Provide school admins with knowledge on how they can best integrate arts as a structured instrument for supporting children with SEN
▶Activities
A study visit to Bulgaria for understanding existing needs, practices and potential for using arts. Developing the methodology for integration of arts for inclusion and learning development of children with SEN, focused on arts teachers/educators and school admins. Pilot training in an international setting in Italy for testing and refining the methodology and providing a practical experience. Local multiplier activities and practical demos/exhibitions in partner and associated partner schools.
▶Impact
Study visit to Bulgaria for understanding needs and exchanging existing good practices. Structured methodology for integration of arts in the school agendas for the purpose of successful inclusion of students with SEN as well as for supporting their learning abilities and progress. Conducted pilot testing of the methodology in Italy. Trained arts educators and school administrators. Supported students with SEN via arts activities. Created intra-school and inter-stakeholder networks.
