The objective of the „Museums for Everybody“ project is to eliminate physical, informational and communication barriers and facilitate an inclusive and satisfying experience for the visitors in the permanent exhibitions of the Ethnographic Museum in Prague and the Slovak Liptov Museum. The focus is specifically on adult visitors, including those with mobility difficulties, vision or hearing impairments, seniors and visitors with limited or no understanding of the Czech or Slovak language.

The project will include implementing inclusive features and practices into the permanent exhibitions, such as expansions of tactile exhibitions, audio guide, a guide in Czech/Slovak sign language and guided tours and programs tailored to specific visitor groups. The improvement in communication with the visitors will be achieved by frontline staff training. Vital part of the project is exchanging methods, experiences and know-how between the two institutions.

The project will allow both museums to facilitate the improvement in visitor services and experience by employing multifaceted inclusive features and measures. The institutions will thus be able to more effectively target the demands and expectations of various visitor groups in order to enable both learning about the Czech/Slovak culture and experiencing an inclusive, barrier-free and empathetic visit of a cultural institution.
