THE AI PBL BOOTCAMP: Developing Best Practices for Teachers to Enhance the Creation and Management of Problem-Based Learning with Generative AI
▶Summary
We aim to empower secondary school teachers to deliver high-quality problem- and project-based learning (PBL) by integrating Generative AI (GenAI) tools, reducing their workload while enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. By developing resources and training, we will build educators' capacity to use GenAI in PBL management and creation, foster sustainability through peer learning, and promote widespread adoption of best practices in AI-supported PBL.
▶Objectives
We aim to empower secondary school teachers to deliver high-quality problem- and project-based learning (PBL) by integrating Generative AI (GenAI) tools, reducing their workload while enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. By developing resources and training, we will build educators' capacity to use GenAI in PBL management and creation, foster sustainability through peer learning, and promote widespread adoption of best practices in AI-supported PBL.
▶Activities
We will develop a GenAI Starters Kit for PBL management and creation, providing practical guidance for teachers. Online teacher training bootcamps will equip educators with skills to apply the starters kit in practice. We will establish a peer-learning exchange program to foster sustainability through a teacher ambassador network. Project results will be disseminated via partner websites, social media, an eTwinning community, and webinars to promote widespread adoption.
▶Impact
We expect to enhance teachers' ability to design and manage high-quality PBL using GenAI, reducing workload and improving student engagement. The project will deliver the GenAI Starters Kit and comprehensive teacher training materials, and establish a teacher ambassador network through peer-learning exchanges. These results will promote sustainable adoption of AI-supported PBL practices and contribute to educational innovation at local and European levels.
