Objectives

We aim to enhance youth work by applying methods of outdoor pedagogies to explore urban spaces, shedding light on socio-political challenges within these environments. By rethinking the way we experience spaces, we will bridge the urban-rural divide and foster collaboration. Young adults and professionals will embark on a mission to create a comprehensive toolkit of newly developed education methods that will encourage young adults to become active citizens.

Activities

A kick-off will create strong partnerships, a digital platform, and an overview of standard practice. During 2 double visits involving neighboring countries, we will develop a methodology for applying outdoor education in urban contexts. The result will be a toolkit with new methods and a guideline, tested in local pilot workshops. A steering meeting and an evaluation will ensure project flow. Dissemination will occur via social media, train-the-trainer events, and attendance at conferences.

Impact

We will create a comprehensive toolkit, that entails around 60 methods, with locally specific variations, feedback form both young adults and professional youth workers and a detailed guideline for real life implementation. Additionally, we will create a profound social media presence and a handbook. We will generate strengthened partnerships and a broadened network within the youth work community and thus direct impact on the engagement within the respective communities.
