The project KUBIK aims to create synergies between cultural education and open youth work. Both fields can learn and benefit from each other: open youth work can use alternative methods for its social interventions. Cultural education can enable young people and professionals to express themselves in new ways, and can gain new approaches and young users from the low-threshold forms of open youth work.

Open youth work and cultural education offer numerous innovative approaches to reach and support young people. The project results will be used to make youth work even more effective, but also more attractive and contemporary. By capturing good practice, providing further training, implementing practical sessions/assignments, developing a toolbox, organising a conference and exchange meetings, approaches and methods will be implemented in practice in a sustainable and participatory way.

The project contributes to the further development of youth work: by promoting education in youth culture, developing the skills of youth workers, strengthening cultural education in the open youth work, creating new approaches and target groups in cultural education, developing and implementing innovative methods, networking and quality assurance. Specifically, policy papers and a digital toolbox will be developed and afterwards systematically implemented in practice as part of the project.
