Objectives

We aim to unite pupils across municipal and national borders to explore makerspaces, design, and technology in a new cross-cultural context. By working in each other's makerspaces, pupils, teachers, and organizations will be inspired by different technological approaches and learning labs. With this knowledge, we can develop our makerspaces and be inspired to create new playful learning activities for children and young people in our local communities.

Activities

By traveling to the Netherlands and Denmark, we will visit each other's makerspaces and tech-focused schools. Students will actively participate and collaborate on designing product solutions that promote cross-cultural understanding using the resources available in the makerspace, with guidance from teachers. In Denmark, the students will also participate in the internationally recognized First Lego League competition. During these trips, pupils will stay with host families.

Impact

Pupils will enhance their technological skills, broaden their cultural understanding through interactions with people from other countries and experience the advantages of engaging actively in communities. Teachers will gain renewed enthusiasm and inspiration for creating experimental and playful activities in their classrooms. Additionally, organizations will be motivated to develop their makerspaces and create new technological opportunities for children and young people in their community.
