Objectives

The primary objective of this project is to enhance the support systems and safeguarding practices for individuals with disabilities in Spain and France by focusing on the learning and upskilling of them and the persons working in this field.By promoting Supported Decision Making (SDM) and fostering social inclusion, the project aims to empower individuals with disabilities and equip professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to advocate for rights-based practices effectively.

Activities

first activity involves conducting in-depth desk research to gather data on existing frameworks, policies, and practices that support individuals with disabilities. The second activity consists of organizing focus groups in Spain and France, bringing together professionals, individuals with disabilities, and their families. Finally, the project will culminate in the establishment of a Learning Hub, designed to facilitate knowledge exchange and continuous upskilling.

Impact

The expected results of the project include comprehensive research articles that synthesize best practices on circles of support, risk management, and safeguarding initiatives. Additionally, focus group reports will document valuable qualitative insights from participants, informing future practices and policies. A pivotal output will be the creation of the Learning Hub, which will provide a resource-sharing platform to support ongoing professional development and adult education
