Objectives

The Medea Sum project aims to democratize access to classical culture by using inclusive, interactive pedagogies. We seek to develop students' key competences (linguistic, cognitive, social) through cross-disciplinary learning and theater, while promoting cultural inclusion, especially for students from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds in classical studies.

Activities

The project will implement a study of the figure of Medea through an interactive theatrical investigation of classical, modern and contemporary texts and iconography, followed by interactive theater workshops. We will produce a pedagogical guide and toolkit for schools, and organize multiplier events to share these inclusive methods. Each partner school will test these activities and engage students in discussions on mythology and social issues.

Impact

We expect to create a pedagogical guide and a "Medea Sum" toolkit, tested in schools, fostering the broader adoption of inclusive classical education. The project will enhance teachers’ skills in innovative pedagogy and develop students' critical thinking, communication, and cultural understanding. The project will also strengthen partnerships between schools and cultural institutions across Europe.
