Objectives

The aim of our project is to develop and test a new type of complex curriculum for older people. During the course, participants will be introduced to educational robots used in school education, games that develop algorithmic thinking, and visual design applications. The aim of the course is to keep the target group intellectually fresh and flexible in their thinking, develop their digital competences and resilience, improve their quality of life and reduce the generation gap.

Activities

After consultation with a gerontologist and an andragogy expert, we will prepare the course documents The participants in the pilot courses will be recruited in cooperation with the local municipality and other organisations working with the elderly. During the pilot course, we will evaluate the impact of the method on the participants' digital skills and flexible thinking through input and output measurements We will hold 2 training courses for elderly educators to multiply the project results.

Impact

The theme, methodology, exercises and lesson plans of the 30-hour course will be prepared in cooperation of the project partners. To test the method, pilot courses will be held in Hungary and Spain, which will be combined with impact measurement. The impact will be measured by standardised tests. The materials will be made freely available to elderly educators in English, Hungarian and Spanish on a dedicated website. In both countries, 10 elderly educators will be trained to teach the course.
